Upside Down

It's been a while since my last post, I know.  I have been busy preparing for the big move to the new place, and trying to maintain my own sanity.

I'm sure you've all heard that old romantic comedy cliche:  the guy who thought he had it all figured out, then a girl comes into his life and turns it upside down.  (thus the title)  Anyway, this is something that just happened to me only a few days ago.
I had just made an important decision about my life (incidentally, I had even thought up a blog post to go with it), and was about to put my plan into motion.  I decided to chat with a female friend online, and mentioned this plan, only to have her say she wanted to date me.  It was kind of a surprise, since past interactions had led me to believe that this wasn't something she was interested in.  Anyway, I agreed right away.  She's adorable, for one thing, plus we get along quite well, so there was really no way I could say no.  The only real obstacle in this is that we live in different towns, and neither of us can drive.  I'm confident I can find some way to make this work, however.
Because of this strange reversal of fortunes, I've been kind of having some odd emotional moments.  I've been alternately excited and nervous.  The excited part is fun, but the worries sometimes leave me feeling emotionally drained.  Most of the time, it's really stupid irrational things I get worried about, too.  Also, because I'm online constantly a lot of the time, I fret a little when my messages aren't responded to right away.      Considering my tragic past, I guess it's no wonder I get this way about these things.  I should probably just learn how to relax more and enjoy life instead of imagining worst-case scenarios.  Perhaps I'll forget my worries once I get settled into my new place and start my (new) life alone.
