Oh, Canada!
I've known you my whole life, but never actually expressed my appreciation for you in words. Since today is your birthday, I thought it would be a good time to list all of the things I love about you.
You have some incredible natural beauty. Forests, mountains, and prairies, all wonderful things too look at and travel through. Granted, I'm not much of an outdoorsy type, but I do appreciate it all.
You are the birthplace of some incredible entertainers. Yes, a few of them did leave you later in life for your big brother (aka America), but we Canadians know our own. And while we're on the subject of entertainment, you will always have the best music.
Your people are well liked across the world. We're known for being polite and kind to others, and many of us can tell a good joke as well.
You have some wonderful cities as well. Toronto is one of my favourite (that reminds me, we've got different spelling of words like favourite, because we're cool like that) places to visit. There's always something new to see or do, and a lot of my friends live there. Sometimes I wonder what living there would be like, but for now, I'm sticking to small town life.
I'm not much into sports, but when it comes to hockey and baseball, you've got my favourite teams. (and the team I love to hate, in the case of the Montreal Canadiens)
You're also home to some of the most beautiful women there are. I've met a few of them, and hopefully I'll meet more as time goes on. I imagine I'll settle down with the best one once I find her.
So, from the top of Niagara Falls (our side is better, by the way) to the depths of Lake Ontario, I salute you, Canada!
Happy Canada Day, everyone!
I'm going to Toronto in August! Can't wait! Canada is indeed beautiful.
