I Want - A Poem

As promised a little while ago, here's a poem I wrote that encapsulates a lot of my feelings on love and all the things that go with it.  Fair warning: this may be the most emotionally honest thing I've ever written here, so be ready for that.

I want

I want love

I want to date

I want to take a girl in my arms

I want to kiss her

I want to be everything to her

I want

I want to know her inside out

I want to hold her when she cries

I want her to hold me when I cry

I want to know the smell of her hair on my pillow 

I want

I want to kiss her on the stroke of midnight on New Year's Eve

I want her to show me something no one else has ever seen before

I want to look into her eyes and know that nothing in this world can touch us

I want to be invincible for her

I want

I want to get married

I want to dance with her to our favourite song

I want to make love to her

I want to remember it forever

I want

I want children

I want to be the favourite storyteller at bedtime

I want to explain to my son why Batman's cooler than Superman

I want to protect my daughter from sleazy boys

I want to grow old beside my beautiful wife

I want

I want to find her

I know she's out there somewhere

I want her to know I'm here, writing these words

I want her to find me today
